Every year children share their dreams with Toyota. How they can make the world a better place by drawing their dream cars. The creativity, energy and delight behind every artwork is breathtaking and we invite you to join us this year to discover just how powerful dreaming can be.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest consists of national contest held in respective counties and the Global contest hosted in Tokyo, Japan. Locally, participants stand to win great prizes and get an opportunity to visit Japan for the global award Ceremony.

Artwork requirements

  • ・Size of artwork:*Within 270-300 mm (11-12 inches) X 420-450 mm (16.5-18 inches) * The above dimensions correspond to either A3 size or tabloid size. (A4 size is acceptable)
  • ・Any color can be used for paper.
  • ・Any drawing materials can be used, such as color pencils, markers, crayons, or paints.
  • ・CG artworks created by using a computer, or artworks made by collage or cut out will NOT be accepted.
  • ・Artwork drawn by multiple individuals will also NOT be accepted.
  • ・Submit color artwork with the background drawn.

9th Dream Car Art Contest Timeline

  • ・Judging Ceremony: Mid-March 2015
  • ・Local Award Ceremony: End March 2015
  • ・Global Judging Ceremony: April – June 2015
  • ・Global award Ceremony: Mid – End August 2015

The goal of TOYOTA Dream Car Art Contest is to create opportunities for children to feel fun and understand the importance of having dreams through drawing a “Dream Car” using their creative imaginations.

The previous contest information

The 8th Dream Car Art Contest attracted over 1000 artwork entries from all over the country. The jury consisted of newspaper cartoonist Maddo; Paul Kelemba, Movin Were an artist, an international school arts teacher; Kathrin Van Rensburg and 2 teachers from a local school assisted by a team from Toyota Kenya.

The top 9 local winners got great prizes ranging from shopping vouchers to PlayStations. Kenya had 2 finalists in the global contest; Pranali Harish Patel and Natasha Mahmoud Shallo. Pranali Harish Patel got an opportunity to visit Japan for the award ceremony. She got a chance to tour the Toyota factory and experienced various aspects of the Japanese culture.
